Patriot Day 2008
Coming Thursday,
September 11 at the CHEER Community Center 20520 Sand Hill Road,
Georgetown, DE.
Everyone is invited to participate in this ceremony honoring the memory
of those who lost their lives September 11, 2001. The program starts 11
a.m. at the flagpole and moves inside to the main banquet room where
there are booths representing all branches of the military and first
responders.
Light refreshments will be available so mark your calendar and plan to
attend this memorable event.

CHEER
September Activities
September
is right around the corner and that means the start of the Fall season
of great CHEER activities starting with the
Trap Pond Fall Festival in Trap Pond State Park, Laurel, DE.
The date is Friday, September 5 and
the all-day event promises to be wonderful. Lots of fun and
entertainment, not to mention great food are there for your pleasure.

Friday, September 19 will be the day everyone anticipates;
Beach Day 2008.
Held in beautiful Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, this all-day event allows
the mature adults of the Delmarva region to usher out summer and welcome
in Fall.
There is a 'Healthy Living Expo'
with informational and health screening booths of health-related
agencies throughout the area at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.
The CHEER Power Walk is a way for
everyone to make a donation to CHEER and at the same time take a nice
stroll through Henlopen Acres and the surrounding areas of Rehoboth
Beach. The first 250 registered walkers receive a
FREE t-shirt to commemorate the day. There is a 2.5 mile
long walk that kicks off at 10 a.m. from the Rehoboth Beach Convention
Center parking lot. A shorter 1.8 mile walk kicks off at 10:30 from the
same location.

Entertainment at the Rehoboth Beach
Bandstand at the Boardwalk will feature popular DJ Sky Brady as emcee
and an assortment of talented acts for your pleasure all day. |

'Grocery Store On Wheels'
The CHEERmobile Mini-Market is a 'Grocery
Store on Wheels' and is available to any mature and/or disabled Sussex
County adult unable to shop on his or her own. The service is also
available on a temporary basis to any adult recovering from medical
treatment and unable to shop regularly.

The
Delaware Senior Medicare Patrol Program provides public
information to encourage people who have Medicare to
carefully read their Medicare summary notices and ask
questions if they don't think it is correct. The program
also trains retirees to help other Medicare beneficiaries
get needed info when they suspect fraud, waste or abuse of
the Medicare program.
